How many of us have laptops now? Chances are that most of us do. We love our laptops, they have everything we need, or want, and are portable, but sometimes they can be fragile. Most entry level laptop sleeves are literally sleeves that slide over your machine. These are basic; no frills items that are just meant to cover the unit. Although there are many materials to choose from.
You can find them made in plastic, fabric, vinyl, leather, and metal. Obviously the plastic and fabric ones are at the lower end of the cost range, but vinyl, and leather laptop sleeves are some of the more expensive, and sought after models. The metal ones tend to be the most expensive, and the oddest. Typically they will be a solid case that you slide your laptop into. This type of laptop sleeve is meant for traveling where you expect it to be rough.
Most of us do take our laptops wherever we go; some of us go to some weird places. Many companies are making tougher sleeves, and bags, after they realized that their customers weren't just taking them to the coffee shop, or business meeting. Many of the newer sleeves are being designed for harsh climates, mainly high heat, high humidity, and in some cases freezing temperatures. These models are meant for those of us who work in the more interesting climates of the world.
Now granted the average user won't be taking their laptop to the North Pole, but some scientists do, and they need a sleeve that works for them. After all they use laptops to, and the last thing they need is to whip their laptop out and find a giant piece of ice stuck through it. That's enough to ruin anyone's day, so makers of these sleeves tend to test them thoroughly.
In closing, laptop sleeves have become quite useful in recent times allowing us to actually protect our laptop wherever we take it. Although the typically user will probably be happy with a standard laptop sleeve some of us like to have fancier ones. Then there are those of us who need really durable ones to keep them safe during our work. After all everyone deserves a sleeve, and some of us are more accident prone than others so it's a good thing we have one.

| the dell case that shipped with my XPS M1710 17" notebook does not have excessive cushioning for the notebook in the main compartment. the microsoft 17" sleeve hugs the Dell XPS M1710 snagly and fit into the dell case. i had no problems throwing the Dell case into any airplane overhead bin over my last 3 trips.

| The interior provides just the right amount of protection!
The handles make transporting the laptop a breeze! and the bag is not bulky at all! A+++ I feared it wouldn't fit my HP 17" Pavilion Dv9925nr laptop, but it did! Fits like a Glove is correct! My Laptop Dimensions are about 16"length, 11"Height, 17"screen, 1"thick. |

| I had a tough time finding a laptop case that fit my HP 17.5". This one is a perfect fit - just like a glove. I also am able to add minor items such as paper or even the power charger. I wish the orange color wasn't so bright, but that's irrelevant. It does exactly what I bought it for - in my book that's perfect. |
